Known as an “acoustic music lover’s dream,” The Tallahassee Museum is bringing back their Swamp Stomp Music Festival on July 13, 2019! Beginning at 4:00 p.m. with the final performance ending at 9:00 p.m., this yearly music festival is organized and produced by local musician Del Suggs. Tallahassee Museum’s Swamp Stomp is somewhat of a staple here in Tallahassee, beginning about 41 years ago and being held annually since then.
Whether you like folk, blues, saltwater music, ballads, highlands, or contemporary acoustic, this festival has a wide variety of talented musicians that appeal to all audiences. This year’s lineup includes locals Hot Tamale, The New 76ers, Belle and the Beyond, Lil’ Grizzly, and more. To get the best spot to watch the performances, the museum advises to “stake out a shady spot among the lakeside oaks.”
Tasty food will be available at the Trail Break Cafe, and those 21-years-old and older can enjoy cool drinks at the cash bar. Tree-to-Tree Adventures will be wrapping up at 5:00 p.m., so make sure to get to the festival early if you plan to partake in other museum activities.
This fun event is free for all Tallahassee Museum members and active duty military. General admission tickets can be purchased for the day’s events as well, with ticket prices being found here. You can RSVP to this year’s Swamp Stomp on Facebook and share with your friends and family here. View the full schedule of performances below:
