On November 5, 2019, Red Hills Horse Trials announced their 2020 International Horse Trials dates. This year’s Trials will run from March 5, 2020-March 8, 2020, at Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park. In 2020, the Trials will be celebrating their 23rd year of Horse Trials.
Known as “one of Tallahassee’s premier family-friendly events,” the Red Hills Horse Trials will feature a number of the “world’s top horses and riders, including former Olympians and Olympic hopefuls,” for spectators to see compete and ride. The Avenue of Shops will be up for attendees to purchase items at, a children’s play area will be open, and there will be a food court on site. In addition, several exhibits will be on display during the event, and tours of the park will be given on old-fashioned hay wagons.
The Red Hills International Horse Trials is sanctioned by The Federation Equestre International, the United States Equestrian Federation, and the United States Eventing Association, which are international and national governing bodies of this sport. This year’s cross-country courses were designed by Michael Etherington-Smith and David O’Connor.
Tickets for this event can be purchased online, here, beginning on November 15, 2019, and in-person at the gate during the event. Single day tickets are available for purchase, along with week-long tickets. Children 12-years-old and under are admitted free.
