On Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., you can drop off any household hazardous waste or electronics that you no longer need at the Leon County Public Works Operations Center. Located at 2280 Miccosukee Rd, this is Leon County’s last collection event of the year.
“During the September, October and November 2019 collection events, 1,243 citizen superheroes dropped off 37,480 lbs. of hazardous waste and 27,580 lbs. of electronic scrap,” Leon County Community and Media Relations states. Paint, aerosoles, brake fluid, and pool chemicals are among the types of waste that can be brought to this collection event. A full list of what can and cannot be disposed of can be found online, here.
The event is free, though depending on the type of electronic or size of the electronic, there may be a fee associated with its disposal. Questions or concerns about what can and cannot be dropped off at this specific event can be directed to the Leon County Hazardous Waste Center by phone at 850-606-1803.
This collection event offers residents of Leon County to clean out their homes of unused or no-longer-needed products and electronics, and prepare for the holiday season with a clean, fresh start. “Let’s finish the year out strong.”
