Tallahassee Community College’s Cleaver and Cork, which is the TCC Foundation’s yearly, exclusive private culinary experience event, will feature world-famous chef, Food Network star, and restaurateur, Chef Marcus Samuelsson in their next event on March 8, 2020. Cleaver and Cork, which is in its 5th year, invites chefs from all over to participate in their week of events, including dinners, live demonstrations, and more.
Cleaver and Cork will kick off the week of events, beginning with A Chef’s Tasting on Sunday, March 1, 2020. A Chef’s Tasting is a progressive dinner party that multiple local restaurants will participate in. Private parties at each restaurant, which include a different courses that are inspired by Chef Samuelsson, will be held at each respective stop. There will be a bus, taking off from Midtown Reader, driving to each restaurant. This year’s participating restaurants are Food Glorious Food, Lucilla, Sage, Savour, and Table 23.
On Thursday, March 5, 2020, A Session with Chef marks the first event involving Chef Samuelsson. Held at Turner Auditorium on the TCC campus, A Session with Chef includes a live demonstration featuring Chef Samuelsson executing recipes from his books, “New American Table,” “The Soul of a New Cuisine,” “Marcus Off Duty,” and “The Red Rooster Cookbook.” There will also be an opportunity for attendees to ask Chef Samuelsson questions about his life as a chef.
The next day, on March 6, 2020, at Cleaver and Cork’s signature event, A Chef’s Table, a 4-course meal, which has been curated by Chef Samuelsson, will be served to attendees. This will conclude the week of events. This year’s Cleaver and Cork will benefit the Empower Exploration Campaign, which supports the arts programs at TCC.
