10 Tallahassee Restaurants that Offer Fried Cheese Curds

TALLAHASSEE, Fla — Fried cheese curds, fried pieces of curdled milk or cottage cheese, are not snacks that are commonly found in the south. Sometimes referred to as “squeaky cheese,” fried cheese curds are popular in Canada and the northeastern and midwestern United States. However, a number of restaurants here in Tallahassee and surrounding cities offer them. Check them out.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse — BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, located at 1749 Apalachee Pkwy, offers “fried Wisconsin cheese curds” topped with parmesan cheese and served with a side of ranch dressing.

Sweet Grass Dairy — Located at  533 Smith Ave in Thomasville, Georgia, just over 34 miles north of Tallahassee, Sweet Grass Dairy offers classic fried cheese curds, Canjun style fried cheese curds, and buffalo fried cheese curds.

Dairy Queen — Dairy Queen, with four locations across town at 3687 Bradfordville Rd, 2227 N Monroe St, 1725 Capital Cir NW, and 1319 Capital Cir SE, offers a side of fried cheese curds on their menu.

Corner Pocket Bar & Grill — Located at 2475 Apalachee Pkwy # 201, Corner Pocket Bar & Grill offers beer-battered fried cheese curds with a side of marinara sauce.

Hobbit American Grill — Hobbit American Grill, with locations at 400 Capital Cir SE # 16, 2020 W Pensacola St #280, and 5032 Capital Cir SW #13, offers fried cheese curds with a side of ranch dressing or “Hobbit sauce.”

Dave’s Pizza Garage — Located at 2887 Kerry Forest Pkwy #1, Dave’s Pizza Garage offers “cheese lugnuts,” fried Mozarella cheese curds with sides of red sauce and ranch dressing.

Buffalo Wild Wings — Buffalo Wild Wings, located at 392 S Magnolia Dr, offers fried cheddar cheese curds with a side of southwestern ranch dressing.

Mom & Dad’s Italian Restaurant — Located at 3421 Bannerman Rd Suite #104, Mom & Dad’s Italian Restaurant offers “mom’s cheese curds,” crusted with garlic and herbs and served with a side of marinara sauce.

Table 23 — Table 23, located at 1215 Thomasville Rd, offers beer battered fried cheese curds with sides of house-made gorgonzola dressing and buffalo sauce.

Proper at Proof Brewing Company — Located at 1320 S Monroe St, Proper at Proof Brewing Company offers lightly-breaded fried cheese curds with a side of sun-dried tomato aioli.
