TALLAHASSEE, Fla — Due to COVID-19 concerns, the annual May event, Maclay Tour of Gardens, hosted by Friends of Maclay Gardens, was canceled this year. In lieu of the garden tour, Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park and Tallahassee Nurseries have partnered up to highlight one local garden through a 20-minute long virtual tour.
In this virtual tour, Tallahassee resident, Scotti Holm, presents his home garden, shares his life story, and offers insight and advice into the keeping of a garden like his. Deemed a “spectacular” landscape that has never been seen before by the public, Holm’s garden was one of several local gardens that been selected to participate in the 2020 Maclay Tour of Gardens.
Each year, Friends of Maclay Gardens highlights local, impressive gardens around the city for Tallahassee residents to visit. Donations are made to the tour in an effort to support Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park’s financial and volunteer needs.
